I thought this was going to be a  commentary on socioeconomics of NYC and/or momfluencer/mom guilt culture, and while there were shades of those throughout, this was actually a mystery about a
straight up sociopath
. But the book started really fast and when it turned to mystery, instead of picking up the pace even more to an edge-of-your-seat thriller, it turn into a slow burn of how the “mystery” that the reader will solve fairly quickly would be unravel for the characters of the book. In summary, nothing wrong with the book; it was an enjoyable read but it didn’t quite know what it wanted to be and never went all in in any direction.
