Das Geschichtsbuch - Grosse Ereignisse einfach erklärt by R.G. Grant

A great and easy to understand overview of human history, with a lot of focus on the context of major historical events, like changes in society and events preceding it. I learned about new events I hadn't really learned about before, but more than that, the book made me understand how different historical events were connected, how they influenced the world afterwards, and why they're still relevant today. I'd also like to mention that this book does not make the mistake of focusing too centrally on European history but history from all over the world (there are areas favoured a bit more by the book, but I figure that has to do with a lack of historical records in the first place for one reason or another).

I really enjoyed reading this and generally found it a really light read in terms of focus and language, I pretty much flew through the pages. A huge recommend for anyone looking for a start into the topic of history.
