I don't think I really knew what I was getting into when I picked this up, but this was a decent read. I'm curious how it would have differed in its original text, rather than in translation, but it was still well-written and interesting. This story was hard to read and was a picture of the reality of of poverty, trauma and violence in a small Mexican village. A lot of the book was challenging to read - absolutely check TWs before reading it. The different narrators throughout the book were interesting and I enjoyed how each narrator was connected to each other and to the main storyline.
