Dragon Justice by Laura Anne Gilman
4.0
I haven't written a review of this series as I read it and I'm still no further advanced in my thinking.
I like the books individually but it doesn't feel as though the characters really advance in the stories, even Bonnie the heroine doesn't really become any clearer. I have a suspicion that this is a spin off of the Retrievers series and if I read that all will become clear - but maybe not.
As always, the plot seems a little unclear to me - too little is explained to the lay reader who might not be as quick witted as Bonnie and the team. The motivations also seem opaque - why is Aden so at odds with Ian? What is she trying to achieve?
This seems as though it was the last in the series and it feels incomplete.
Overall, I enjoyed the individual books but I felt they didn't achieve their potential - I felt there was a bigger, deeper story either being missed or that I didn't see properly. The books are expensive and I'm not sure I want to invest that much money in buying the Retrievers books to find out whether there was more going on.
