The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
2.0

The Lord of the Rings was a good series overall, though not one of my favorite. It dragged on just a bit too much for my taste. Also, it seemed like several battles were won just because the bad guys got scared, which I didn't understand. I did like most of the characters, especially the hobbits. Frodo is the one exception to that. He became too somber and depressed and moody for me like him all that much. In fact, if it wasn't for Sam Frodo would have given up and died, which is why Sam is one of my favorite characters in the series, if not my favorite character. I also enjoyed the second-to-last chapter where the hobbits are able to defeat Sauruman once and for all and take back the Shire. The final big thing in the series that I didn't like was how in the final book several characters randomly got married to people that we hadn't even heard of. I love romance in books, but the romances in The Lord of the Rings was just random. The last big thing in the series that I did like was how a dwarf and an elf became best friends. I thought that was pretty cool. The Lord of the Rings was a good series overall, though not one I can read over and over again. Thanks for reading!
