The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman

3.0

I was dubious about this book for quite a while on account of the dodgy similes, awkward changes of tense and soppy scenes. Having finished it I think it explored some interesting moral questions even if it wasn't always believable. The final third I felt was better as it was more about the action rather than fluffy scenes that just seemed to take up space without adding to the plot -- I definitely agree with others who have said it could have been much shorter. I didn't like the writing style at all but couldn't help but want to keep reading it to find out how the situation was going to be resolved.
