I had a tough time feeling invested in the story. I realize that I don't like plotlines where the FMC is blindly loyal to people just because they have history. There's a love square, but it felt kind of off. I'm unsure if it's because I didn't connect with any of the characters, but I felt I wasn't interested in what would happen. I think the characters are interesting as individuals, but as a story, I felt like it was a little lacking in something. The story is very interesting, like The Swan Princess, but darker and has a dark fae storyline. I'm unsure if I will continue the series, but we will see.
