Call Me Evie by J.P. Pomare

dark mysterious tense medium-paced

3.0

The reader is kept partially in the dark throughout this book - all you start off knowing is that the narrator is being kept in a secluded town by a man she has been instructed to call her uncle Jim and the story is told through two time lines - before and after he moved her to this town.

This book definitely kept me hooked throughout - but I don’t know that I actually enjoyed it that much. The unreliable narrator isn’t a style that I usually gravitate towards, and coupled with having much of the information withheld until the end, it just wasn’t my style. I think this was a case of good book, but bad pick!
