Jugend ohne Gott
by Ödön von Horváth
I went into this read, expecting a story about the youth that loses its religion. But what I got was very different and interesting at the same time.
The obvious criticism of people who didn't do anything against fascist regimes, seen in the way the teacher refrains from doing good, combined with the inner crisis of the teacher was incredibly fascinating.
I really enjoyed the way this book was written and how it portrays society shortly before the war.
