Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime by John Heilemann
4.0
I enjoy reading celebrity gossip columns online. This was like a whole book of gossip on political celebrities--lots of juicy behind-the-scenes stories from unnamed sources. It was very interesting and entertaining, but probably wouldn't be to someone who didn't follow politics much. One of the main perspectives I gained from reading this, besides the fact that many of those people really are batshit crazy, was how much is really decided behind closed doors, in secret meetings with small groups of wealthy or otherwise influential people, months before we actually vote. The whole campaign process is almost a farce, yet navigating it successfully is still necessary in our current system. And basically, Obama had one hell of a campaign team.
