The Mixtape by Brittainy C. Cherry

5.0

Honestly - I didn’t even think i would love this book as much as i did. As a single parent, i absolutely related and fell in love with Emery as a MC. She was strong, independent, kindhearted, giving, and so very strong. She was dealt a very hard life, but never let that dull her spirit. Oliver was also a strong MC. He had so much to accept and move on from.

The Mixtape is so much more than a romance. It’s a testament to grief, loss, and just understanding yourself and digging yourself and who you are out of unimaginably hard moments. There are quite a lot of TW in this novel, and def should be referenced before reading.

Reese was such an added joy in this novel as well. I absolutely hated Emery’s parents, they’re trash. Sammi went through so much character development through the novel as a side character as well.

Overall i cried, laughed and my heart swoooned through this entire novel. I absolutely loved this, and will be adding more of this author to my Tbr!
