"She was the heir of ash and fire, and she would bow to no one."

There are few thoughts going through my mind right now beyond "holy. shit." Or maybe there are so many thoughts but that is the only one I can articulate at the moment. But that was incredible. I fully understand now why people say that Heir of Fire is where the series really starts to pick up.

I wrote this review a few days ago and for whatever reason it didn't fade, so bare with me as I try to recreated it as accurately as I can remember lol.

In my opinion, the theme of this book is growth. There is so much growth for so many characters and relationships. We are also introduced to several new characters that I just know are going to be vital to the story line moving forward.

Abraxos is the true hero of the story. Try and change my mind. He is my favourite character at this point. His "I won't do anything I don't want to and if I want to sit here and sniff the flowers that exactly what I'm going to do" attitude gives me LIFE.

Initially, I really didn't care about Manon's story at all and was annoyed that I had to keep reading through those parts. However, Manon became a little more interesting and earned my respect after she *acquired* the spidersilk for Abraxos.

Celaena has officially exposed her badassery. This girl went👏🏻 through👏🏻 it👏🏻 this book. She was pushed to her limits, worked on mastering her powers and already had to deal with some big bads. Not to mention she walked through the fire that was her trauma and just worked through it while pushing her powers to the limit. A true queen emerged. Also, the evolution of her relationship with her new fae companion as a true enemies to friends is portrayed so well.

PROTECT DORIAN AT ALL COSTS! I just want poor sweet little Dorian to get everything he wants out of this life.🥺

I understand why some people are annoyed with Chaol, but he has dedicated his life and entire belief system to being loyal to the crown and protecting his people. Everything he has ever believed has now been brought into question and he still doesn't know who he can and can't trust. So I understand why he's warring with himself, I just hope he smartens up and gets his shit together and does what's right.

I'm obsessed with Aedion. I will riot if he dies before he gets to see his cousin.
