i enjoyed this! i have only read the first Mistborn book by Sanderson, but i do enjoy his storytelling and world building. Tress was a really strong character, but i think some aspects of the book fell kind of flat for me. i read this at a rough time and so i was hoping it would be more cozy and transportive (it's definitely marketed that way) but was slightly let down. i did still enjoy the tone and perspective which was playful and omniscient which added a really cool element to the story. there were a few things i just skimmed over because they felt so dull (the spore science) and it felt slightly repetitive at times, with pacing being a little off kilter as well. the characters were very strong and i do like sanderson's writing. overall, pretty good!
