"You can’t possibly do anything if you think you can’t. But you can do impossible things sometimes if you think you can."
Warm, adorable little boarding school story that made the little me dream for sleepovers with my girlfriends and horsing around at school. Their natural rock pool by the sea is to die for.
I fancied myself most similar to Darrell but really, I was Sally—quiet, spoke only when spoken to, had no interest in other people, and stayed silent when I was sick in fear of being a nuisance. Funny how the characters that I used to think were boring turn out to be my favourites (I did Jem Carstairs so wrong). I appreciate Sally's wisdom and kindness and teared up at Mary-Lou's growth.
