I don't even know how to review this. It's maybe 5% plot without smut until close to the end. I don't know why I loved it but I did. This broke my brain lol. Tem is a farm girl who has been sent to be trained by a basilisk to prepare for the prince. The girls are trained to please him, and whoever did the best will get to marry him. Ok. So, hunger games but less killing and more boinking. Fine.
Except Tem ends up falling for her basilisk, Caspen, and also continues to pursue Leo, the prince. Smut ensues for most of the book, but theres like, depth to it that I didn't expect, and I could not put it down because I needed to find out what happened to the kingdom, and if she could have both of them after everything is over. And there were twists that I did not see coming. I'm ready for the next book, because holy crap that cliffhanger.
