The premise is sort of interesting and then you start reading it and you’re like oh this sucks. Part One was just torture porn with no real goal or development of plot? Just brutal descriptions of abuse, rape and body horror for no reason other than shock value. Part Two gave me flashbacks to The Stranger by Albert Camus which is not a good thing. And in a chapter in this part there was an entire 2 pages devoted to animal abuse that I had to just skip over. The only good part of this book was that the ending showed that Marcos sucks just as much as the rest of the people in this world.

I’ve heard good things about this story so I’m a little disappointed, especially since I usually like weird dystopian novels but this was just terrible !!
