Tappaja by Lee Child

3.0

This was my very first Jack Reacher -novel. I'm not quite sure what to think about him yet. Sure, I will read a few more of his adventures before I decide, but I don't think he will ever be my favorite crime fighter. It's partly because he annoys me. And it's partly because Lee Child's writing style annoys me. Both are very simplistic and straightforward. Everything in this book was like building a tower of blocks: you start with one and then you just keep adding them until you're satisfied. And of course it works super well if you choose the right blocks, and yes, the right blocks were there. I was on the edge of my seat reading this, because all the right blocks were added at the right time. But still, I would have wanted something more. A little bit of edge to the characters and a little bit of imperfectness in the storyline. Everything was so smooth and shiny, there was nothing to get a grip on.
