Men Who Hate Women by Laura Bates

challenging informative medium-paced

4.5

I need to preface this review by saying how, as a survivor of sexual assault, the early chapters of this book were extremely triggering and I had nightmares for days after starting it. If you've got a history of trauma maybe sit this one out.

If you think you can safely read it, then this is a must-read, especially for anyone who works in media or education or policy or who cares for children.  It was a terrifying but incredibly illuminating read, highlighting the connections between different types of violence and the apathy that governments and policy makers have towards women when ignoring the clear evidence of male supremacist extremism.
