Know My Name by Chanel Miller

5.0

I cried my way through this book. Chanel is an incredible writer and draws you into her story from the first word. It is, equally, a deeply upsetting book as you are forced to wrestle with sexual assault and its impacts, right alongside Chanel. She's real and raw in her struggle against Brock Turner, who exemplifies the ways that gender, race, and money can save some people from the consequences of their actions - consequences that live with Chanel (and other victims) for the rest of their lives, no matter how healed they feel. You will leave this book broken-hearted but hopeful that you can be part of a better world.
