Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn, David Levithan
5.0

As soon as I picked up this book and read the first page I knew I would love it.

The writing and diction used in this book just grabbed me immediately. I had the urge to look up every word I didn't know because the words themselves were used so eloquently. The two main characters, Dash & Lily, were so fascinating for me to read. I just found both of their characters to be very true and admirable to read about. It was nothing complex and that's why I liked it. Although I will say I still have trouble picturing a "snarly" teenage boy with such an articulate use of language. In fact almost all of the characters in this novel were very eloquent and sassy - while sometimes unbelievable I loved their sass too much to care. I marked the pages that really spoke to me... but honestly, the whole novel spoke to me. Something spoke to me on every page. This book made me want to cry happy tears, which I don't get much either.

This book also made me want to write again. Just listen to 80s music, think, and write. There are so many great things to take away from this read.
