The Orange and other poems by Wendy Cope

5.0

The Orange by Wendy Cope is a very well known poem. While I adore it, I wondered how much I could get out of a poetry collection with its namesake that is a scarce 35 pages. How impactful could 35 pages be, really?

Well, well, well, I ate my words. While ‘The Orange’ is obviously gorgeous, the standout for me is ‘Names’.

Other favourites include:
-faint praise
-being boring
-a vow

While these may be my highlights, every word, punctuation mark leaves an impact.
The whole collection, while minute, is not little in its impact. Quite the opposite; small but mighty

Stellar, 5⭐️
