This book started out as a solid 4 stars.  It had everything for a good summer psychological thriller - a tragic heroine, a therapist who psychoanalyses everything around him, and a massive plot twist at the end.  I think it lost me with the main character, a therapist who therapizes everyone and seems aware of the childhood trauma behind his actions, yet is painfully unaware of the actual reasons.  I recognize that the book intentionally makes you uncomfortable, I just didn’t enjoy it.  I also wasn’t a fan of the ending but can’t explain why?  It wrapped everything up neatly and it all makes sense, it was just unsatisfying to me.  I see why everybody likes it though!
