OK POP OFF PERCY. We all love Percy, it’s a universal truth, but I think he won over everyone’s heart with this one. This book was an unexpected hit for me. I adore CHB and it is always my favorite setting in Rick’s books, and this book didn’t even graze that surface, YET, I loved it. The pacing was just perfect and the new characters were the cherry on the top. Rick's subtle hints to the PJO series throughout this book left me giddy and some of the twists the narrative took HAD ME. Just the kind of book that makes you want to ignore all commitments and responsibilities and just soak in the words forever. Only -ve was probably my own bias against the setting and lack of certain characters.
