Although I was very skeptical reading this because I was afraid it would be overhyped - it isn't. Obviously I was here for Paedyn and Kai. I did find the writing very repetitive, such as the use of interesting and dimples and apparantly all men do is smile. But I didn't really have a problem with it, and that didn't take away from how this book destroyed me at the end. It really isn't very heavy fantasy, which I loved. I can't wait to read the second book as this one leaves you on a cliffhanger, and I can tell the novella will be sad becauseAdena died at the end of Powerless
