My Greek and Latin teacher gave me this book to read for the holidays, and I must say, as a Greek mythology super fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Vernant’s retelling is fresh and pleasurable, without too many frills or adaptations to the original stories. I loved his notes on some particular concepts and Ancient Greek words and although I already knew the stories, I still learned something new!
I would highly recommend this book as an introduction to Greek myths or simply as a lovely read.
