Great follow-up to The Magic Thief. A thoroughly enjoyable out-loud read.
This sequel picks up a few months after The Magic Thief, peopled with all the same great characters, Conn and Nevery and Benet and Lady Rowan, back for more adventure.
The tone of this book is slightly darker, but still fun and fast-paced. And we are presented with more of the world in which Conn and Nevery live, outside the city of Wellmet.
Antonio Javier Caparo's illustrations are delightful. And, as in The Magic Thief, Prineas includes some extras at the back of the book, including recipes, a guide to the main characters and places, and a key to the runic alphabet used in the book.
