mahika 's review for:
The Paradoxical Prime Minister
by Shashi Tharoor
I was so excited to read paradoxical pm and for the first half of the book, I really enjoyed it. Any person reading this wants to know about Shashi Tharoor's interactions and insights on Modi and the book delivered that initially. However, halfway through, I found it to be incredibly premature. It was like an account of Modi's ministership that was incomplete. It was so obviously rushed to be published before the 2019 elections that it made it seem almost trite.
Moreover, the constant mentions of the upcoming elections got a bit irritating after a while and felt like an extension of Congress' manifesto rather than Shashi Tharoor opinions on Modi specifically. I obviously understand that as a member of Congress and a representing member of the Lok Sabha, a certain amount of promotion is justified. However, for me, it began to be a bit too much.
