This book feels like the author tried to create a strong female lead, but instead made a competent woman whose competence is used by a man to further his own plans to her detriment. Which she's totally cool with because of her crippling self loathing. No level of harm done to the main character was treated as consequential, except as a way to motivate her kidnapper/lover to do something. All with random fits of sexy time thrown in to distract. This book was a marvelous depiction of abuse but for some reason it seems both the author and many of the readers have confused that with romance. Which is... Concerning...
