Death's Law by Michael Scott

3.0

This is uneven heroic fantasy, not bad, but really never reaching great heights either. The story acts as if everyone is a legend, but rarely provides the powerful prose to support it, the world building is shakey at times, and characters often are really just cardboard cutouts without any real development. But through it all is rollicking good action, completely over the top plot and a sense that legendary fantasy still has something to offer.

Compared to many of the reads of my youth this one has held up rather well.
