Below Stairs by Margaret Powell

This was a quick read, and while it gave a through look at what life was like "below stairs", I felt the author started pulling away just as she finally got out of service. I understand it was meant to mostly be a look at what being a servant was like, but she spoke a lot of courting and the losers (by her account, not mine) that she dated before her husband. When he finally came into the story, she described him very briefly. I didn't feel like I knew what he or their three sons were like, which was disappointing. Still, it was an entertaining book.
