Halle has always been a people pleaser. Being the eldest daughter meant that she was always taking care of everyone but herself. When she and her boyfriend breakup, she’s not heartbroken because he never made her really feel anything. She’s lonely and thinks she’s broken. She vows to start trying to do things for herself going forward. When she finds out about a writing competition, she’s excited to make an entry but she realizes her lack of experience in life comes through in her writing. Then she meets Henry, captain of the hockey team and someone who finally makes her feel something. When she discovers that he’s struggling in his class she agrees to help him and he offers to help her gain those experiences she craves so she can write her book. As they spend more and more time together, they start to realize how much they enjoy being together and feelings start to grow.

WE FINALLY GOT HENRY’S BOOK!!! I so enjoyed reading about Henry and Halle’s story. The two of them were just the absolute cutest and I loved how well they communicated with one another even if communicating felt hard. I’m so proud of both of them and the growth they experienced throughout this book. Halle found her confidence and started standing up for herself more and I loved how supportive Henry was of that. He always wanted what was best for her. Henry realized some things about himself too and realized he didn’t have to sacrifice his own happiness for fear of letting anyone down. Their love for one another was just absolutely beautiful to watch unfold. Of course it was nice to read about familiar faces and the absolute chaos of those hockey boys, I already miss them. And I just so enjoyed getting to know Henry better and I’m so glad he found his happiness with Halle. Such a beautiful story!
