To Sleep in a Sea of Stars
by Christopher Paolini
No. Did not work for me. It had some good scenes and individual moments but the pacing was fucking arduous. It just keeps going. It’s like when you’re out somewhere and only one song is playing and they keep it on loop by taking the last third and tacking it on to the end of the song over. And over. And over. Also, god, the fact that love and acceptance quite literally saves the day made me nauseous. There’s a way to have that be your message without it being so on the nose it makes your whole entire plot seem like a joke.
