This is probably a 2.5 star but I rounded down to 2 because it was just not well written and all the characters and storylines were forced tropes. A bunch of fringe characters felt superfluous and served no purpose, in my opinion. Many elements of this story (i.e characters and their plights) felt like they were poorly sketched and just did not ring true, nor did I feel like the author “landed the plane” with a lot of what she was clearly trying to accomplish here and that in and of itself is majorly disappointing and a large part of what makes a book great. It turned into a jumbled mess. All to say, I feel like another version of this book could have been a lot better.
