Return to Me
by Lynn Austin
3.5 stars
I enjoyed the premise of this book and I liked to see the perspective of the Jews that returned after the exile.
The middle of the book really dragged on for me. I usually read romance and if a book doesn't have something powerful driving the plot, I get bored.
A large amount of this book felt really repetitive and I never fully identified with any one character.
However, as the book reached the end it really had a great message of standing up against those who are trying to hamper the worship of God. It was so encouraging to see how the Israelites chose to obey God rather than cower before what might happen if they went against the governing power, or their neighbors.
I really loved taking that message away from this book.
I think we can apply this today.
