I'm sticking with my original rating, but honestly, the first read was definitely better. but if you need to know ill rate it 3.75 second time around.
Since reading this, I’ve come across some YA that really raised the bar, so the plot here felt a little “meh” in comparison. Still, I’m curious enough to keep going. Fingers crossed the series will live up to the hype... or at least give me a few more twists to actually care about.
Calaena is still a total badass.
Chaol remains my favorite character.
Dorian, though, could use more depth.
other characters did not stand out for me to care other than Nox. I would love to know what happened to him after he left.
