The ending was very expected, but everything was written so well it doesn't matter. While I wasn't wowed by the end of the book, I did devour it in 2 days. Kudos to the author for tackling something difficult and prescient in this project. I was surprised at times to find myself not knowing who to sympathize with. Just when you think one thing about the narrator, Kuang throws a wrench in the story and really made me think about the connections between writing, perception, and reality. Looking forward to what Kuang writes next.
