Finite and Infinite Games: A Vision of Life as Play and Possibility
by James P. Carse
I think the thing I like best about this slim, but substantive book is the way Carse refuses to define its core terms, letting the unfolding exploration speak for itself. Read his description of a "Master Player" (chapter 16), and you'll never watch a James Bond movie in quite the same way again.
