This one gets 3 stars just for the nostalgia of it. I read Lori Wick's books constantly when I was young, just couldn't get enough of these stories and characters. Reading it again for the first time in many, many years as a woman in her late 30s was a vastly different experience. There were moments when it seemed like she was trying to be 'progressive' with how she wrote a more independent main female character, but overall it was quite stereotypical conservative Christian romance. I definitely rolled my eyes at some parts, and although the romance between Sunny and Brandon took a long time to develop and didn't actually turn into romance until she was 18 or 19, it was still a bit off-putting knowing how much older he is, and how they essentially considered themselves to be like siblings when they were younger .
