It took a little to warm into the story, in part as you try to understand the circumstances Piranesi is in and his frame of mind, getting more and more engrossed as i read. Piranesi is such an earnest and endearing character, you can't help but be drawn into his irreverent point of view. Overall a charming and intriguing book
