I think if not for Tasmin (Pimlico) in this book I would not have continued reading. She really made this book for me. Obviously her character would either make or break the book for you; she is an amazingly strong willed character. She knew right from the get go after getting kidnapped and enslaved that it would be a fight to stay alive. How she stays alive is what keeps you so enrapt in the book and not want to put it down. Her captor is obviously demented and horrible and if you can get through what he does to her … ugh it’s awful but I love strong willed female characters.

Then enters Elder… who I am pretty sure I also despise. He is not there to rescue Tasmin, he actually comes off as quite an ass most of the time. There are actually some scenes were I wanted to physically hurt him because he didn’t seem any better than the thugs that kidnapped her. So I’m not sure why some reviewers romatized him…? Maybe I missed the part where he was nice.. I kind of do want to read the next book just to see how Tamsin progresses not for Elder.
