Suburban Hell by Maureen Kilmer
2.0
Great in idea and concept.
Falls apart in execution.
Pretty straight forward neighborhood demonic possession story - and the author isn’t as witty as she hoped she’d be with her obsessive use of overlong simile and musings on motherhood, womanhood, and neighborhood politics.
Not much goes on - even the parts meant to be “scary” aren’t that scary at all.
Too much musings from Amy’s perspective, so much random dialogue and backstory and mundane suburban goings-on - not nearly enough demonic possession.
