This book is an example of incredible storytelling, with nasty character(s). I couldn’t wait to be done with it but the compelling storytelling kept me going and I finished it in one sitting. All the while I was screaming in my head ‘you b*tch! You chose to marry him but any bad thing you conveniently blamed everyone else but yourself. Jesus’. It took quite an effort but I was in the library, and I didn’t think other patrons would appreciate expletives being casually thrown here and there, doesn’t matter how justified.
I’m just appalled by how some people who could go through life thinking they’re so entitled, they think they deserve better and act all mighty, but when they had to face circumstances that resulted from their own actions, they’d conveniently blame someone around them. And who else would suffer but their own children? Sigh. And this was brilliantly captured in this short book.
