I absolutely love the world of The Bridge Kingdom and I never stop recommending this series. The Twisted Throne, the first book of the third duology taking place in the world of The Bridge Kingdom, aka the 5th book, was just as incredible as it's predecessors.
Ahnna believes she failed to protect Ithicana from invasion as a commander and a leader. She also believes that she must leave Ithicana to save the land, holding up a decades-old oath that she marries the heir to Harendell, a wealthy country that can help the impoverished Ithicana. When Harendell claims Ahnna as the future queen, she travels to the land with intent to gain influence and sway over the trade to Ithicana. The political schemes, duplicity, and power plays in Harendell are more extreme than Ahnna expected, with the only person she can relate to being her future husband's half brother, James. Drawn to the wrong prince, Ahnna must navigate political plots and both man-made and natural dangers.
This book had everything! From intrigue and plot twists, danger and peril, to romance and high stakes, I was wrapped up in the story from the very beginning to the cliff-hanger end!
