A Dowry of Blood by S.T. Gibson

The writing is gothicly beautiful. I wonder if I stayed with it, I’d see our heroine become a strong force, but I’m over this trope of the weak female overruled by the male. I don’t find it a turn on when this tripe is married with violence and abuse (verbal or physical). Again, I only maid it 10% in, and the tone probably changes—I got a hint that it would…but if I’m not caught right at the beginning I don’t last long.
