So this is the big finale of the Kate Daniels series, it was fun, action-packed, scary, but underwhelming
Things I liked:
-CUDDLES THE GIANT DONKEY THING xD Hilarious
-Love the bantering as always, I LOVE GASTEK, He's a vamp mind controller, he lights up all the scenes he's in
- GIVE ME MORE ASCANIO AND DEREK BICKERING, they are my favorite loyal teenage werewolves, no scratch that, give me a spin-off series based on them
The main issues I had was that this felt so predictable, from the traitor of the Keep, to how the events played out.
Things I wanted more from this book:
-JULIE
-ANDREA, I know she has her own books, but still, she was barely there in this book
- Better writing? This one felt so choppy, we were jumping from sequence to sequence and it ended up being a bit muddled and underwhelming
-A longer/more drawn-out battle between Roland and Kate
- They built Roland to be this big bad, yes he did deliver with how strong his presence and underdogs are, but we barely get to see him use his powers
