I would give this 4.5 solid stars. I absolutely fell in love with this book and read it in 1 day. Why didn't I give it a 5? Only because it is slightly annoying to me to read the cliff notes, but they add so much flavour and understanding to the book that they should not be ignored!
I have recommended this book on many occasions, it gives an insight into some of the failings of love, for the Dominican man. I felt so many parallels within my own Caribbean community, although I am from a different background.
It really was a joy for me, and it motivated me to read The Brief wondrous life of Oscar Wao, and Deep also by Junot Diaz, however out of the three this is my fave!
