lizzinikkii 's review for:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
by Stieg Larsson
I was reading a lot of these Goodreads reviews, and I'm confused as to how any one couldn't like this book. I have to agree with most of the reviews that the first about, uh, 150 pages were quite boring. I'm a huge believer in reading the book before the movie though, so I pushed myself to keep reading because I was really excited for the movie.
But once it got past all the boring descriptive stuff and talking about the characters, the mystery really started picking up. The book was extremely intense at some parts where I was actually cringing because it was so grusome or so sexual - but nothing I haven't read before. It was a bit confusing how Larsson would sometimes use a character's first name, and sometimes call the character by his last name. With so many characters, it was easy to get confused of who he was talking about.
The book was all around amazing, though. It really was worth the hype. I can't wait to read the 2nd and 3rd one and see what happens. I deff. reccomend the book. And now I can't wait to see the movie! Just have to have somebody over 21 to take me because it's Rated R...
EDIT:// (March 3, 2012) I just watched the movie last night. It was AMAZING. I'm pretty sure nobody could have done as good of a job as Rooney Mara did. She did amazing. The movie just reminded me of how utterly amazing this book was, and I can't wait to read the second one. After it finished, I literally went upstairs and just thought about how great it was. UGH, I recommend EVERYBODY to read this.
