Tea Party Rules by Ame Dyckman

2.0

Welp, that was delightful. And then I got to the back page and it turns out it's by the author of [b:Boy + Bot|12448586|Boy + Bot|Ame Dyckman|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1320511825s/12448586.jpg|17431671], which is likewise about a hilarious misunderstanding that ends in play. (Spoiler alert, sort of: I am going to have to reread this to determine exactly when the bear's "disguise" fails. At some point the kid has to be on to his game, right? I don't know! Which is the kind of thing you ponder deeply when reading kids' lit, I guess.)

Update, 8 February 2018: Tried to explain to kiddo that some jokes are always funny, but this book is not one of them. Adding the “grim-obligation” tag to this one, glad we’re going to have to return it to the library.
