This book starts off with Becca losing her job and then coming home to find her almost fiancé moving his things out of her condo. Could anything worse happen? Yes it could! A meddling sister, Emma, with what seems to be a rodeo fetish is trying to convince Becca to expand her job search to Oklahoma where there’s a job at Oklahoma State University, OSU, and cowboys a plenty. Of course Becca puts her foot down with a capital N O.
Weeks later Becca receives a phone call from an unrecognizable area code. It’s OSU wanting to offer her an associate professor’s job and would like to interview Becca in person! After finding out her sister had secretly applied to the job behind her back, Becca brings Emma with her on the trip as punishment. Little did Becca know, that was Emma’s plan all along.
The night before the interview, Emma purchases tickets to the local rodeo to school Becca on the Oklahoma “culture.” As these two noticeably city slickers enter the rodeo arena, they catch the eye of two very ruggedly sexy cowboys competing later that night. As sparks instantly fly between Tucker Jenkins and Becca, and a little matchmaking help from Emma and Tucker’s friend Jace, Becca takes a chance on one night with a cowboy.
This book was smoking hot!! The sexy time scenes between Tucker and Becca scorched my corneas it was so hot! I absolutely could not stop reading this book. It was wonderful to watch the couple as they constantly struggled to define what was going on between them and their feelings for each other. The dialog was also hilarious as well as sexy. Cat Johnson can sure write a damn good cowboy!
There was nothing about this book that I didn’t like. The plot was fantastic, the characters were brilliantly written and the heat factor was scorching! This is a must read for anyone who loves cowboys and an odds-defying love!
