Queer as a Five-Dollar Bill by Lee Wind
5.0
I liked that it shows that there is still a lot of work to be done so LGBTQ youths can live safe and happy life, and that homophobia and closed mindedness is still a big problem.
I liked the romance too. It was cute and it really was there to bring the mood up when it got too serious. And the characters, in my opinion, acted their age. I love the interlocking of history and fiction, and that it can inform closeted gay, bi, pan or anyone else, about Lincoln and make them feel good and help them love and except themselves. It was a really great story and more people should read it.
And as not American person, with almost no knowledge about Lincoln it was really interesting learning about him being not straight, and really made me research this topic and person more.
